About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at Smitty's Family Restaurant and Lounge. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook food items to order, following established recipes and presentation standards.
    • Portion and package food items for serving.
    • Operate dishwashers and washing equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance and Organization
    • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
    • Restock supplies and ingredients as needed.
    • Participate in cleaning and sanitizing tasks, including floors, walls, and equipment.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
    • Take orders and serve customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to address any concerns or issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Will train on the job.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Team player with a positive attitude.
    • Ability to work a 40-hour workweek.
    • English language proficiency.
