Key Responsibilities

Quality, Risk & Compliance - Methodology

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Information Technology (IT) controls methodology and training initiatives for the Firm.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning, fostering new ideas and methods to enhance operational procedures.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance through clear objectives, regular feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance quality and efficiency related to IT control audit methodologies.
  • Organize training sessions and develop templates, tools, and guides in both English and French to support the Firm's IT control audit methodology.
  • Assist with CPAB inspections as necessary.
  • Lead the planning, preparation, analysis, and reporting of IT audit processes within MNP's assurance practice.
  • Work closely with the Assurance Professional Standards Group (APSG) to create and maintain a methodology for identifying and addressing risks associated with IT in audit engagements, ensuring alignment with Canadian Audit Standards.
  • Support MNP's assurance practice Change Leaders and Champions.
  • Serve as the IT expert on selected audit files, coordinating with Enterprise Risk Services (ERS) as needed.
  • Collaborate with industry groups to streamline industry-specific IT risks, enhancing efficiency and audit quality.
  • Conduct post-file reviews with Quality Management (QM) to assess whether IT risks have been adequately identified and managed in selected audit files.
  • Partner with other Quality, Risk, and Compliance (QRC) teams to support MNP's business objectives.
  • Engage in Assurance Innovation proof of concepts (PoCs) and pilot projects alongside our QRC and technology teams.

Assurance

  • Lead teams in delivering complex audit and review engagements, ensuring effective budgeting, internal controls, and financial transactions.
  • Provide industry-specific and technical audit expertise through client interactions, reports, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage a diverse client portfolio, ensuring a deep understanding of their business, key risks, and value delivery.
  • Organize engagements and manage project financial parameters, including budgets and billing.
  • Ensure quality control while applying specialized knowledge to anticipate and resolve business issues and client financial records.
  • Network within the local business community.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering competitive service offerings tailored to client needs.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning for clients, fostering innovative ideas and improved procedures.
  • Mentor and motivate team members, promoting their development through clear goals and regular feedback.
  • Maintain flexibility for travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant public accounting experience.
  • In-depth understanding of business, accounting, management, and exploration principles.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, lead, and manage team members effectively.
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in French (written and oral) is an asset.
