As a Senior Financial Auditor at The Chartered Professional Accountants Of Manitoba, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. Under the direction of the Manager, Financial & Oversight Functions Audits, you will be responsible for planning and conducting financial and operational audits to assess the adequacy of internal controls, the overall effectiveness of operations, and to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Audit Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive audit plans to assess the risk of material misstatement in our financial statements.
  • Internal Control Evaluation: Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls to ensure they are adequate to prevent or detect material misstatements.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Analyze financial statements to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of potential risk.
  • Compliance Auditing: Conduct audits to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare clear and concise audit reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify and address audit findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of internal or external auditing experience or a combination thereof.
  • Professional Designation: Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
  • Education: Bachelor of Commerce degree or other related post-secondary degree.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
