About the Role

BMO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mortgage Specialist to join our team. As a Mortgage Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their dream of home ownership by providing expert guidance and support throughout the mortgage application process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and sales strategies to drive business results and increase BMO's share of the home financing market.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with a network of referral sources, including realtors, lawyers, and other industry professionals, to generate new business opportunities.
  • Actively identify and pursue sales opportunities to achieve individual sales and profitability goals.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on mortgage products and services, ensuring that they receive the best possible solution for their needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including branch teams and other departments, to ensure seamless execution of mortgage applications and processing activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market conditions to ensure that customers receive the most competitive and compliant mortgage solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of BMO's mortgage products and services, as well as industry-leading training and support.
  • Participate in projects and activities designed to improve the customer experience and drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage sales, business development, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending processes, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose new solutions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information with discretion.
