About the Opportunity

Zurich Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reserving Actuary to join its Finance Actuarial team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading reserving studies, managing a team of actuaries, and establishing partnerships with business leadership on reserving matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead reserving studies and develop recommendations for reserving strategies
  • Manage a team of actuaries and provide guidance on reserving matters
  • Establish partnerships with business leadership to provide insights into risks, underlying performance, and implications for the business
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in the Actuarial area, including 5+ years of experience in reserving
  • FCAS or equivalent international certification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Experience in multiple functional areas, including pricing, reserving, and capital management
