About the Role

Zurich Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reserving Actuary to join its Finance Actuarial team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading reserving studies, managing a team of actuaries, and providing expert advice on actuarial models and risk issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate reserving analyses, portfolio profitability management, and communicate results to business leaders.
  • Manage a team of 3-4 reserving actuaries, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Interface with regulators, auditors, and Peer Reviewers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Quarterly Reserve Committee and lead the production of the Appointed Actuary's Report.
  • Perform the monthly close process and communicate results to Finance and Underwriting teams.
  • Conduct financial condition analysis, support ORSA, and participate in Internal Target Setting.
  • Provide consultation and technical expertise on actuarial models and risk issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree.
  • 8 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification OR 13 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification.
