Job Title: Associate, Underwriting
Job Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Associate, Underwriting to join our team at Glasslake. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers and ensuring that our lending practices are sound and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit evaluations and risk assessments to determine the creditworthiness of borrowers
- Review and analyze financial information, including balance sheets, income statements, and credit reports
- Develop and maintain relationships with sales teams and other stakeholders to optimize business potential
- Facilitate the loan origination process, from application to closing
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in residential or commercial underwriting, financial analysis, or deal structuring in financial services
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred
- Formal credit or residential/commercial loan training and some previous credit decisioning preferred
- Knowledge of credit/underwriting of small commercial real estate loans
- Working knowledge of bankruptcy, foreclosure, and litigation matters is considered an asset
