Position Overview:

In the role of Sanitation Technician, you will be essential in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our production environment. Your primary responsibilities will include executing cleaning and sanitation tasks on our production machinery and facility areas.

Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Compensation: $24.50 per hour

Shift Availability:

  • Evening shifts starting at 5:00 PM
  • Night shifts beginning at 5:30 PM
  • Additional night shifts at 7:00 PM

Our Sanitation Technicians are expected to remain until the completion of sanitation operations, with each shift lasting approximately 10-11 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cleaning and sanitation tasks on production equipment and facility areas using high-pressure hoses, which includes the removal of various materials such as blood, bones, fat, grease, and waste.
  • Comfortably working on ladders that reach heights of up to 12 feet while utilizing high-pressure hoses.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines during cleaning operations.
  • Effectively using cleaning equipment and chemicals to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Keeping accurate cleaning logs and communicating any issues to the supervisor.
  • Carrying out tasks assigned by Sanitation Supervisors and Pre-op Inspectors.
  • Performing varied duties across multiple locations within the facility, with special assignments as needed.
  • Completing daily assignments as scheduled and assisting in the training of fellow associates as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to comprehend written materials, including SOPs and training documents.
  • Prior experience in a sanitation or cleaning role within a food processing environment is essential.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and meet stringent deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, with comfort in frequent standing and/or bending throughout the shift.
  • Experience working with strong cleaning chemicals.
  • Comfort in working at heights of up to 12 feet and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in proximity to machinery.
  • Frequent exposure to various materials, including waste products.
