Underground Operations Manager

The Underground Superintendent is a key member of the Linxus Group team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Underground department. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, with a focus on ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Review job files and become familiar with original estimates, plans, and specifications.
- Allocate resources to meet construction schedules and complete projects on time and on budget.
- Update coordinating on scheduling.
- Train, mentor, and develop direct reports to build a strong team.
- Direct the work required to complete projects in conjunction with Foremen.
- Ensure company tools and support equipment are properly requisitioned, maintained, and returned when no longer needed.
- Attend project closeout meetings to ensure successful project completion.
- Document all pertinent project information, including weather, site conditions, employee issues, and changes in scope.
- Review grade sheets for accuracy.
- Ensure all materials are ordered with purchase orders or requisitions.
- Coordinate with Project Managers for document inspections on completed work.
- Review and approve electronic timesheets submitted by Foremen daily.
- Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on work sites.
- Report incidents and near misses and participate in the investigative process.
- Assist other employees when required.
- Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directions regarding standards of workplace behavior.
- Comply with the standards and procedures of our health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- A minimum of 5 years of Underground utilities installation, supervisory experience as General Foreman or Superintendent.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, schedules, and cost reports.
- Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety practices.
- Extensive knowledge of proper equipment utilization, operation, and maintenance.
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification.
- Ground Disturbance.
- Valid First Aid.
- Taken LSE, Prime Contracting, and PHISM.
- Self-motivating and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work as a member of a greater team.
