About the Role

C.F.R Dorchester inc. is seeking a highly skilled Robotics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robotic solutions to improve our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Improve Existing Systems: Modify and update existing computer programs to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Technical Communication: Clearly communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, manuals, and documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software and robotic systems.
  • Requirements Gathering: Assist in collecting and documenting user requirements to inform the development of new robotic solutions.
  • Design and Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop logical and physical specifications for robotic systems.
  • Research and Evaluation: Research and evaluate various software products and robotic systems to identify the most suitable solutions for our needs.
  • Robotic Process Automation: Design and implement robotic process automation solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Estimation and Design: Prepare written estimates of repair costs and estimate costs and materials for robotic projects.
  • Custom Design: Create custom designs for clients to meet their specific needs.
  • Supervision: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs.
  • Project Management: Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in architecture or engineering projects.
  • System Design: Design manufacturing systems to optimize the use of computer networks, robots, and materials.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in robotics engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Computing Professional (CCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Skills: Programming software, computer-aided design (CAD), API, MS Excel, robotic equipment and systems, automated and robotic systems, design, manufacturing sector experience, machinery and metal equipment products manufacturing, industrial equipment, robotics or controls, machinery and components, industrial robotics, electro-mechanical drafting, custom fabrication, electrical engineering, system integration, industrial machinery and equipment, knowledge of preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.
