STATUS: FULL-TIME
WAGE RATE: $40.36 – $56.30

Under the supervision of the Manager, the Physiotherapist plays a crucial role in delivering care to referred stroke patients across various environments. The primary objective is to achieve optimal physical capabilities that promote independence at home and facilitate a return to meaningful activities for the client. This role also involves providing tailored consultations and educational sessions related to stroke recovery for service providers, caregivers, and family members. The physiotherapist collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to offer innovative rehabilitation services aimed at helping stroke survivors and their families attain their highest level of recovery within their community.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required:

  • Active membership in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Proven clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation, along with a solid understanding of contemporary best practices in this field
  • Demonstrated capability to work effectively within a collaborative inter-professional environment
  • Experience and proficiency in working with stroke-affected individuals
  • Comprehensive understanding of the roles of various rehabilitation professionals in stroke recovery
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and patient self-management strategies
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and innovative skills
  • Experience in community-based settings
  • Background in interprofessional teamwork
  • Flexibility in adjusting time and responsibilities to meet patient needs
  • Proven adaptability and a high degree of initiative
  • Awareness of resource management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable insured vehicle
  • Willingness to travel throughout the designated service area
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and across multiple sites as necessary
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

  • Registration/authorization with ADP
