Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead to join our team at BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing Engineers/Specialists in executing a wide range of projects across a common product line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Motivate and lead a diverse team of Manufacturing Engineers/Specialists to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and resources to ensure adherence to project plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve project risks and issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in proposal development and review, including scope review and estimate preparation.
  • Lead proposals as assigned Proposal Estimate Lead (PEL) roles as required.
Qualifications
  • B.A.Sc. in an Engineering or a Technical Diploma in an Engineering field.
  • Typically requires 15 years' experience in manufacturing in Nuclear, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Oil and Gas, or other highly-regulated field.
  • Typically requires 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with proven ability to lead complex manufacturing projects and success in a technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with project schedules, working within budgets, financial metrics, and other project management methodologies.
  • Experience with a broad range of interdisciplinary activities including design, manufacturing, quality assurance.
  • Strong data analysis and computer skills including CAD, MS Office, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills understandable by a diverse audience.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership skills, strong technical experience, and the ability to work in a team.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in the CANDU Nuclear Industry.
  • Familiarity with CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards.
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and Standards.
  • Experience with Project Management processes and Primavera P6 project management software.
