About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Fruit and Vegetable Department at Metro Inc. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the department and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the department, including purchasing, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that customers receive a positive shopping experience.
  • Conduct sales floor activities, including merchandising, visual displays, and product demonstrations.
  • Manage and develop a team of sales associates, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a retail or food service environment, preferably in a management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising principles.
