Job Overview

The Medical Laboratory Assistant is accountable for a variety of tasks associated with specimen acquisition and management, data entry, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Qualifications

Halton Healthcare is committed to employing individuals who demonstrate proficiency in their respective fields and embody our core values of accountability, respect, and compassion that shape our professional conduct.

  • Certification as a Laboratory Assistant is mandatory
  • Certification from MLPAO / OSMT is essential
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of recent experience in phlebotomy is required
  • 2 to 5 years of recent experience in a clinical laboratory environment is necessary
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems is expected
  • A Medical Terminology Certificate is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are crucial
  • Experience in public interaction is beneficial
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is required
  • Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the role is essential
  • A satisfactory record of employment and attendance is required

Work Schedule: Monday to Sunday; Various rotating shifts including weekends and holidays (Schedule may vary based on operational needs)
