The ideal candidate will oversee the transportation of goods and supplies to various clients, vendors, job sites, or designated locations as required. Responsibilities encompass the operation of freight handling machinery, upkeep and management of company vehicles, verification of documentation, and interaction with customers. The Home Centre Driver will ensure the secure and efficient operation of the vehicle while delivering products to clients. Core responsibilities include:
- Preparing the truck and trailer for the loading of products for delivery.
- Confirming load security and accuracy of orders.
- Conducting daily pre-and post-trip inspections, fulfilling all National Safety Code requirements.
- Transporting materials to specified locations while providing exceptional service to delivery clients.
- Fostering positive relationships with the yard, sales desk, and management teams.
- Ensuring proper maintenance and safety checks of the vehicle are conducted.
- Upholding a high standard of safety in all operational areas, ensuring adherence to procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Performing minor mechanical repairs on trucks and semi-trailers as necessary.
- Carrying out inspections of trucks and trailers and reporting on their condition.
- Maintaining cleanliness of truck and trailer units in line with brand standards.
- When not engaged in deliveries, assisting with order fulfillment, receiving freight, supporting yard maintenance, and conducting inventory counts as assigned.
- Completing necessary paperwork in accordance with departmental standards.
- As needed, assisting in the yard and store, providing customer service, including product assembly and carry-out service.
- Executing all other assigned duties.

Candidate Profile:
We seek individuals who are interested in a career in Retail Store Operations and possess:
- Strong customer service and communication skills, along with problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to operate heavy-duty equipment while adhering to safety regulations; familiarity with the National Safety Code is advantageous.
- Proficiency with computers and/or electronic log systems.
- A valid Class 1A driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to obtain forklift certification is required.
- A minimum of 6 months experience driving Class 1A semi-trucks.
- Physical capability to meet job demands, including manual labor and occasional heavy lifting.
- Organizational skills and the ability to achieve high productivity with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Honesty, trustworthiness, and a results-oriented mindset, striving for excellence in all tasks.
- A belief in the value of building relationships and collaborating to deliver impactful solutions, recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives in achieving common goals.
