Job Summary

Bakery Nakamura is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that all food products meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Develop and implement efficient kitchen procedures to meet production schedules and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, food service attendants, and kitchen helpers, to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, estimate ingredient and supply requirements, and maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food products meet our quality control standards, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Training and Development: Train kitchen staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve performance.
  • Financial Management: Prepare budgets and cost estimates, and maintain accurate financial records.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role.
  • Work Setting: Bakery.
  • Supervision: 11-15 people, including cooks, food service attendants, and kitchen helpers.
Language and Work Environment
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 30 to 44 hours per week.
