Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at SHIPCART DISTRIBUTION SERVICES. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Monitor and assess the efficiency of our transportation operations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor Department's Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure our transportation department is meeting its goals and objectives.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to optimize our transportation operations, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
  • Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement changes to our transportation schedules and policies.
  • Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of our transportation department.
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of 3-4 transportation staff members.
  • Manage Finances or Budget: Oversee the financial aspects of our transportation department, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Arrange for Shipping Documentation and the Tracking and Tracing of Goods in Transit: Ensure that all necessary shipping documentation is completed and that goods are properly tracked and traced during transit.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that our transportation operations comply with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Negotiate for Services and Preferential Rates: Negotiate with service providers to secure preferential rates and services.
  • Oversee the Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Oversee the Setting of Transportation Service Rates and Monitor Revenue: Develop and implement transportation service rates and monitor revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Ensure that inventory is properly organized and maintained to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Travelled and Fuel Consumption: Record and track key information related to cargo, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
  • Plan, Organize, Direct, Control and Evaluate Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to optimize our transportation operations, including scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
