Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager, the Customer Service Representative is tasked with managing the switchboard and bell services, warmly greeting all guests, and delivering exceptional service to both arriving and in-house guests.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exemplary customer service while managing administrative tasks, including guest check-ins and check-outs, addressing guest inquiries, assisting with group arrivals and departures, luggage management, and reservation support. Serve as an ambassador for Coast, welcoming guests and addressing basic inquiries. Exhibit a customer-centric attitude in interactions with both internal and external contacts. Process cash, credit, and debit transactions in accordance with hotel policies. Accurately input data into the designated database. Report any discrepancies in room rates, payment details, and credit arrangements to the appropriate manager for resolution. Verify the accuracy of daily inputs, including payment transactions, and submit daily shift audits for review by the night audit team. Collaborate with all departments regularly to ensure seamless service delivery. Perform additional duties as required.Qualifications and Experience
Completion of Grade 12 education. At least 1 year of guest service experience, preferably in a front desk role within a busy hotel setting. Hospitality diploma preferred or relevant coursework in Hotel Management. 1 year of related work experience, along with a Hospitality Diploma and/or a combination of education and experience is advantageous.Skills and Competencies
Strong communication (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills. Technical proficiency. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Familiarity with reservation operating systems is a plus. Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite. Professional demeanor and attitude. Ability to multitask and demonstrate initiative. Industry-specific certifications, such as Front Desk Agent (e.g., emerit), are advantageous. Must be bondable and eligible to work in Canada. Consistently exemplify the Coast Core Values. Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
