Metal Fabrication Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team at Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret assembly blueprints and weld both simple and intricate components, including piping systems, in accordance with technical drawings and production guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and execute assembly drawings to weld various components, ensuring adherence to specifications.
- Utilize electric winches, forklifts, and overhead cranes for the handling of components and assemblies.
- Inspect and rectify weld leaks following established standards and procedures.
- Occasionally mark, assemble, and tack components based on technical drawings.
- Perform soldering, grinding, and assembly of copper foils within tanks or other structures as required.
- Mitigate distortion during soldering processes.
- Conduct soldering and desoldering of current transformer components within the department.
- Complete necessary documentation and check sheets as part of the workflow.
Qualifications:
- Diploma of vocational studies with training duration of 18 months to 2 years.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant welding experience.
- Proficient in the use of oxy-acetylene equipment and electric arc welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW, pulsed arc) across various metals and positions.
