Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Counselling Therapist to join our team at pt Health. As a Counselling Therapist, you will work with clients to provide assessment, consultation, and psych educational services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with assessment, consultation, and psych educational services
  • Participate in regular team conferences involving client and members of the interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, clients, employers, referral sources, family members, and other counsellors
  • Provide psychological case management input and direction to the therapy teams
  • Quality reporting and communication
  • Orientation and mentoring to assist other team members to effectively manage clients' psycho-social issues

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master's in counseling or clinical psychology
  • 2 years + experience
  • 1 year of experience in a Return-to-Work setting
  • Professional registration with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists
  • Ability to use creative and structured approaches to assist clients to self-manage
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other correspondence
  • Ability to communicate using different styles and methods to suit individual clients and situations
  • Experience with chronic pain, and/or post concussive symptoms is an asset
