Job Overview

MLSE is seeking a dedicated Manager to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This role will focus on the financial reporting and analysis of monthly and quarterly results, specifically in the areas of Ticketing, Global Partnerships, and our LIVE entertainment sector. As a Manager, you will oversee a team of four direct reports and collaborate closely with FP&A team members, gaining valuable exposure to senior leadership within finance and the broader operating business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including P&L and Balance Sheet management, ensuring timely and accurate closing of books for the Ticketing, Global Partnership, and Live entertainment divisions.
  • Prepare insightful analysis and commentary for monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting packages presented to senior management.
  • Manage general accounting tasks, including the review and approval of monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Assist with the annual audit of consolidated financial statements and League Reporting audits for all teams.
  • Review and approve variance analysis comparing actual results to forecasts for ownership presentations.
  • Collaborate with various business lines to investigate significant account variances and gather explanations.
  • Contribute to multiple sub-ledger reconciliations to ensure precise revenue reporting and billing.
  • Support the coordination of requests from external auditors.
  • Review refund and payment requests for accuracy.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
  • Perform additional duties on an ad hoc basis as necessary.
Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with prior management experience preferred.
  • A post-graduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, or Commerce is preferred.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or nearing completion is essential.
  • A results-oriented individual with a keen eye for detail, committed to best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively build and lead a team, focusing on coaching and skill development.
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge in IFRS, particularly IFRS 15.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting data to develop logical solutions.
  • Preference for a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, VBA, and macros.
