Position Overview:

The Lead Actuarial Associate plays a pivotal role in the Actuarial Services division, contributing significantly to our mission of delivering secure and sustainable retirement solutions for Canadians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tools and methodologies for accurate benefit valuation and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Actuarial Services & Quality Assurance to provide expert support on complex benefit calculations.
  • Engage with various teams within the organization to analyze trends, project future plans, and undertake special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and regulations while providing recommendations for new plan provisions.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least six to ten years of relevant experience in the pension or insurance sectors.
  • Possession of or progress towards an ACIA or ASA designation is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in defined benefit pension plan design and familiarity with actuarial standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with actuarial software, particularly ProVal, is advantageous.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
