Transportation Manager

Rocket Logistics Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation of goods and ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Management: Manage the transportation budget and ensure that all expenses are in line with company policies.
- Shipping and Documentation: Arrange for shipping documentation and track the movement of goods in transit to ensure timely delivery.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and laws.
- Policies and Standards: Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods.
- Negotiations: Negotiate with service providers to secure preferential rates and services.
- Operations Management: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods, as well as the setting of transportation service rates and monitoring of revenue.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure that goods are available when needed.
- Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Operations Planning: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of 11-15 people to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure that logistics operations are aligned with company goals.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as logistics, transportation, or business.
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal Qualities: Reliable, organized, and able to work under pressure.
- Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
- Language: English.
