Supervisor of Construction

The City of Brantford is seeking a dedicated professional to lead a team of inspectors and operators in overseeing municipal linear infrastructure projects. As a Supervisor of Construction, you will be responsible for providing guidance on project management, negotiation with contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead construction and site supervision for capital projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Assist in project scheduling and cost management, analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Negotiate with contractors and consultants to secure the best possible outcomes for the City.
  • Prepare construction procurement documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of the team.

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering diploma or degree, with a strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Experience in construction and inspection of infrastructure projects, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Supervisory experience, with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
