Epic Games is seeking a passionate and experienced Level Design Team Lead to join our renowned Fortnite team.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in level design, creative leadership, and team management to guide a talented group of designers in crafting captivating content for upcoming releases. As part of an interdisciplinary content creation team, you'll contribute to the development of immersive environments that expand the Fortnite universe.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead a dedicated team of level designers in creating engaging and visually stunning structures, landmarks, and points of interest for Fortnite Battle Royale.
- Employ your creative leadership to ensure design efforts prioritize competitive and appealing gameplay spaces that align with seasonal objectives.
- Collaborate closely with directors to conceptualize and integrate narrative content, enriching the game world's story and setting.
- Work in tandem with directors, artists, and production teams to establish a clear vision and plan for content creation across seasonal updates. Collaborate with the gameplay team to implement features that impact the Fortnite map.
- Represent the level design team in meetings and planning sessions. Advocate for the establishment of guidelines, metrics, budgets, and standards related to Fortnite content development.
- Actively participate in game testing, providing valuable feedback and identifying practical solutions to challenges.
- Mentor less experienced members of the level design team by offering constructive feedback, evaluations, and guidance on their professional growth.
Your Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading a multiplayer level design team.
- Experience managing content creation teams within a Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) model.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively.
- Experience collaborating closely with artists and overseeing artistic endeavors.
- Expertise in designing and building multiplayer levels, ideally within the 'battle royale' genre.
- Proficiency with a level editor (Unreal Engine 4/5 or similar).
