Project Control Specialist

Position Overview
The Project Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective execution of project controls, which encompass planning and scheduling, estimating, financial oversight, change management, progress assessment, reporting, and project accounting. This position will provide both technical and managerial assistance to the field construction operations team, particularly in utilizing a progress monitoring tool.
Employees are expected to foster and engage in a "culture of safety," uphold and exemplify Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, maintain professionalism and amicability, and treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and fairness.
Position Details
- Work hours: 40-50 hours per week
- Office location: Crossfield, Alberta
Key Responsibilities
- Generate intricate reports in Excel for both internal and external stakeholders
- Offer technical assistance for various in-house progress tracking and scheduling software
- Support the development and upkeep of the project schedule, providing regular updates to stakeholders
- Monitor and assess project progress, including regular evaluations of earned value management
- Implement cost management processes, including aiding in budget creation and chart of accounts
- Review and confirm production quantities and invoices
- Assist in change management activities, including proposal creation and field support
- Continuously enhance project administrative processes and procedures to improve project efficiencies, employing creative and strategic thinking to foster improvements
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Project Controls
- Familiarity with engineering and construction-based cost and scheduling systems (including productivity, performance measurement, progress tracking, and change management)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required
- Proficiency in MS Office is mandatory; advanced knowledge of MS Excel is necessary
- Able to respond effectively to project stakeholder inquiries and understand client needs, providing assistance and advice on standard practical issues
