Location: Calgary or Edmonton Office. This role is primarily office-based but the candidate must have the ability for intermittent travel to various job sites when needed.

Job Highlights:

This position is responsible for the successful completion of technical pipeline and facility designs, project deliverables, and related documents. Responsibilities include:

  1. Lead technical designs, conduct calculations, draft documents and mentor & review junior engineering work in accordance with industry and CCI Inc.’s codes and standards.
  2. Expert guidance, recommendations, and stamping of Pipeline & Facility Process design documents is required.
Accountabilities:
  1. Support Company execution of Pipeline and Facility Engineering and Design.
  2. Provide Senior Engineering review and expertise on process conditions, P&ID/PFD development, process design, service conditions, requirements, and code standards, including, where required, the generation of engineering memorandums, design reviews, and expert recommendations.
  3. Knowledge of piping, valves, metering, pumps, over-pressure protection, process safety, design, code & regulatory compliance, across liquids, gas, and hydrogen services.
  4. Projects may include pipeline process + mechanical engineering design, integrity replacements, riser sites, valve replacements, pigging stations, metering sites, LACT sites, Well pad Sites, etc., across LVP, HVP, and Sweet / Sour Gas services.
  5. Assist with the completion of various project deliverables (engineering calculations, engineered drawings, specifications and datasheets, evaluation of technical feasibility, process design, pipeline systems optimization).
  6. Hydraulic modelling.
  7. Participation in project HAZOP meetings.
  8. Knowledge of Canadian Oil & Gas industry and related codes (CSA Z662, Z245, ASME B31.3/4/8, API, etc.).
  9. Mentorship and training of junior engineers.
  10. Technical coordination with various disciplines, both internal and external.
  11. Assist in developing and standardizing templates and commonly issued project documents/calculations to improve overall efficiency of the company’s operations.
  12. Maintain consistent involvement with Project Managers to ensure overall coverage of projects is in place.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an Accredited University.
  2. Registered as Professional Engineer with APEGA, and EGBC (additional PE licensing considered an asset).
  3. 10+ years’ experience in a Process P.Eng role.
  4. Knowledge in piping codes (CSA, ASME, PRCI, API).
  5. Knowledge in design of gas and liquids pipeline & facility systems.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  7. An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude.
  8. Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills.
  9. Willingness to learn and take additional responsibilities.
  10. Quality and Safety oriented mindset.

  • Technical writing skills.
  • Professional licensure with other provincial associations (PEO, etc.) is a benefit.
