Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Estimator to enhance our Pre-Construction division. Your expertise will play a crucial role in our team's success.

This position offers full remote work flexibility for the ideal candidate, with the option to work from one of our offices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate project expenses, compile quantity take-offs, and prepare detailed quotation submissions.
  • Request quotations and secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Generate quotations for projects valued between $1M and $100M.
  • Review estimates for accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Maintain strategic communication with suppliers and clients.
  • Draft proposals and submit tenders, ensuring compliance with specialized requirements.
  • Assist in developing labor and material databases for bidding.
  • Evaluate current practices and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance processes.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Estimator to establish indirect costs and overheads for each estimate.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in sectors such as Industrial, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Multi-use Residential complexes.
  • Relevant Electrical qualifications or field experience, or status as AScT, E.I.T., or P.Eng.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical sub-trades and installation methods.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with industry practices, electrical tendering processes, and Bid Depository regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Accubid and LiveCount estimating software.
  • Familiarity with BlueBeam, AutoCAD, or BIM is an asset.
  • Adept at building relationships and collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Preferred experience in a leadership role, mentoring junior team members.

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 per year, complemented by a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will reflect experience and qualifications.
