Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to enhance our Pre-Construction division. Your expertise will play a crucial role in our success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately estimate project costs, compile quantity take-offs, and prepare comprehensive quotation submissions.
  • Solicit competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare requests for quotations.
  • Develop detailed quotations for projects valued between $1M and $100M.
  • Review estimates for accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers and clients to strategize project execution.
  • Draft proposals and submit tenders, ensuring all specialized requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the creation of bid labor and material databases.
  • Analyze current practices and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Estimator to establish project indirect costs and overheads.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators in their professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in sectors such as Industrial, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Multi-use Residential projects.
  • Relevant Electrical qualifications or field experience, including AScT., E.I.T., or P.Eng status.
  • Strong understanding of electrical sub-trades, installation methodologies, and electrical drawings.
  • Familiarity with industry practices, electrical tendering processes, and Bid Depository regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of estimating software such as Accubid and LiveCount is advantageous.
  • Experience with BlueBeam, AutoCAD, or BIM is a plus.
  • Ability to foster relationships and work effectively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring junior team members is preferred.

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 per year, along with a competitive total compensation package, commensurate with experience and skills.
