Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Estimator to enhance our Pre-Construction division. Your expertise will play a vital role in our success.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work for the ideal candidate, with the option to work from one of our offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately estimate project expenses, compile quantity take-offs, and prepare detailed quotation submissions.
- Solicit competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare requests for quotations.
- Generate quotations for projects valued between $1M and $100M.
- Review estimates for thoroughness and adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers and clients.
- Draft proposals and submit tenders, ensuring compliance with specialized requirements.
- Assist in developing labor and material databases for bidding.
- Evaluate current practices and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with the Chief Estimator to establish indirect costs and overheads for each estimate.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior estimators.
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience in sectors such as Industrial, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Civic Infrastructure.
- Relevant Electrical qualifications or field experience, including AScT., E.I.T., or P.Eng status.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical sub-trades and installation methodologies.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and P&ID's.
- Familiarity with industry practices, electrical tendering processes, and Bid Depository regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of estimating software such as Accubid and LiveCount.
- Experience with BlueBeam, AutoCAD, or BIM is advantageous.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a knack for managing multiple priorities.
- Leadership experience, particularly in mentoring junior staff, is preferred.

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 per year, complemented by a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
