Position Overview
We are on the lookout for a skilled Electrical Estimator to enhance our Pre-Construction division. Your expertise will play a crucial role in our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assess project expenses, compile quantity take-offs, and create detailed quotation submissions.
- Generate requests for quotations and secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop quotations for projects valued between $1M and $100M.
- Review estimates for thoroughness and adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers and clients.
- Prepare proposals and submit tenders, ensuring compliance with specialized requirements.
- Assist in building and refining bid labor and material databases.
- Evaluate current practices and pricing to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Collaborate with the Chief Estimator to establish project indirect costs and overheads.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in sectors such as Industrial, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Multi-use Residential complexes.
- Relevant Electrical qualifications or field experience, or status as AScT., E.I.T., or P.Eng.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical sub-trades and installation methods.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with industry practices, electrical tendering processes, and Bid Depository regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of estimating software such as Accubid and LiveCount.
- Experience with BlueBeam, AutoCAD, or BIM is an asset.
- Ability to foster relationships and work effectively within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Previous experience in a leadership role, mentoring junior staff, is preferred.

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 per year, along with a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will depend on experience and qualifications.
