Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently seeking a Business and Technical Analyst for Congress and Events Management.

Position Overview

As a key contributor within a specialized team, you will play an essential role in advancing our digital initiatives within our agile organization. Our agile operating model comprises two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution focuses on aligning various missions with business objectives and fostering collaboration on a broader scale. Conversely, Digital Capability emphasizes the growth and development of individuals within specific areas of expertise. This dual structure allows us to efficiently scale agile practices while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

In your role as a business and technical analyst, you will be tasked with comprehending the needs of end users across commercial and medical business domains. You will leverage your knowledge and experience in the congress and events management field to demonstrate how best to fulfill their requirements using systems/tools such as Cvent, SpotMe, ON24, Impetus, and Veeva Events Management. Subsequently, you will translate these requirements into well-defined user stories that system engineers can utilize to develop, test, and implement the necessary changes to the systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, goals, and objectives. Analyze business processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities and define requirements for solutions.
• Technical Specification Development: Convert business requirements into detailed technical specifications that guide the development of software applications, systems, or processes, ensuring alignment with both business needs and technical standards.
• Solution Design and Recommendation: Collaborate with Digital and software development teams to design solutions that meet business requirements. Assess potential technical solutions for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of project goals, requirements, and constraints. Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather feedback and achieve consensus.
• Project Management Support: Assist in project management tasks, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in testing developed solutions to ensure they meet defined requirements and standards, assisting in identifying and documenting bugs or issues for resolution.
• Training and Support: Create training materials and provide support to users on new systems or applications, ensuring end-users are equipped to utilize new solutions effectively.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation related to business requirements, technical specifications, project plans, and reports to ensure knowledge is captured and shared.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial and medical business analysis within a Life Science organization.
• Knowledge and experience in commercial and medical domains within the Life Science/Pharma industry.
• Proven experience in business analysis, technical analysis, or a related field, demonstrating a history of bridging business needs with technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to comprehend complex business issues and develop suitable technical solutions.
• Experience with Agile methodology, DevOps, and CI/CD principles and practices.
• Experience in congress and events management domain and familiarity with systems/tools such as Cvent, SpotMe, ON24, Impetus, and Veeva Events Management.
• Experience with other systems such as Veeva CRM and Adobe Marketo.
• Good understanding of information technology, software development life cycles, and architectural frameworks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with diverse groups of stakeholders, including business users, Digital professionals, and management.
• Attention to detail in documenting requirements, specifications, and project details to ensure clarity and alignment with objectives.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, technologies, and project priorities.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and software development tools is advantageous.
• Certifications in Agile delivery methodologies (e.g., SCRUM, SAFe).
• Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
