Position Summary: The Financial Cost Analyst is tasked with managing the daily functions of the Accounting department, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently and effectively. This role is crucial for the company's success, as it involves maintaining open communication among team members and aligning with the strategic goals of the organization while ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing cost models, ensuring accurate cost allocation.
  • Analyze discrepancies in costs related to materials, labor, machinery, and overhead, identifying opportunities for cost savings and performance enhancement.
  • Oversee and audit general ledger inventory accounts to ensure the precision of inventory valuations.
  • Establish procedures for inventory valuation and provide insights into inventory management practices.
  • Update cost components in the cost model as necessary.
  • Periodically review cost driver populations and adjust baselines for each cost category.
  • Enhance the cost model for improved effectiveness and robust cost control.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to generate reports that support cost analysis across product lines.
  • Propose modifications to policies and procedures to improve the cost accounting function.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement controls aimed at reducing operational costs.
  • Examine cost structures to evaluate their influence on pricing strategies.
  • Support annual planning processes for variable and fixed costs, as well as departmental budgets.
  • Assist in developing and executing effective pricing strategies for various product lines, assessing their financial implications.
  • Conduct daily and month-end accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and contribute to the efficiency of the year-end audit process.
  • Help implement internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with an accounting designation or progress towards one.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar financial analysis role.
  • Strong background in data management, including data quality assessment and analysis.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence software, such as Power BI, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in a computerized environment, with advanced skills in Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in pricing and cost analysis is beneficial.
  • Background in a manufacturing ERP environment is preferred.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
