Role Summary: The primary responsibility of a Technical Solutions Engineer is to deliver presales assistance by serving as a technical advisor to the sales team. This includes generating detailed functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams, and comprehensive equipment lists to facilitate the creation of customer proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate client requirements into effective functional system designs.
  • Review pre-construction designs and documentation to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Provide support in technical design and assess the level of effort required by estimating hours and identifying logistical challenges for the sales team to consider during pricing discussions.
  • Assist Account Managers with labor and material estimates for various projects.
  • Take ownership of project installations when necessary.
  • Develop engineering and architectural drawings, including RCP/Floor Plans, calculations, and acoustical modeling as needed.
  • Offer ongoing engineering support and assist with project sign-off processes.
  • Engage with vendors or potential vendors to evaluate products as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in business writing.
  • Skilled in the use of test and calibration equipment.
  • Support user acceptance testing effectively.
  • Basic understanding of IP networking principles.
  • Advanced computer skills necessary for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that aligns with AVI-SPL driving standards.
  • Formal education in Electronics or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with Enterprise Video Conferencing solutions (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence) – both hardware and software.
  • AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) certification is preferred.
