Job Summary

Murata Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our team at the Toronto Design Centre. As a key member of our Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Principal or Senior Level Engineers in the design and development of power supplies
  • Ensure the technical integrity of the design and ensure it meets corporate engineering procedures
  • Interface with customers to communicate technical information and provide support
  • Supervise the work of technologists working on the project and ensure timely completion
  • Perform schematic entry, calculations, simulations, and bread-boarding in the design process
  • Implement microcontroller firmware and hardware for power management/control functions in power supplies
  • Design circuits and perform tests and evaluations for design verification and integrity
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in high frequency power supply design
  • Experience in switching power supplies AC/DC, DC/DC with various topologies and knowledge in resonant converter such as LLC, LCC converters
  • Experience with Wide band Gap devices like SiC and GaN devices and their application in power electronics circuits
  • Experience in design and optimization of magnetic components like transformers and Inductors for power electronics
  • Experience in Analog circuit design and Control theory Techniques, Z-transformation, and digital control systems for power electronics application
  • Experience with the use of MATLAB, MathCAD, and PSPice simulation tools
  • Experience in designing systems to meet product safety and EMC requirements
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
Work Environment

This is an on-site role with one flex day per week of remote work. The position requires 90% sedentary work, 5% lifting and carrying equipment, and 5% working in confined spaces.
