Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

At JC's Hot Bagels, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Coordinate Staff: Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure that they are meeting our high standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and address any customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Work Schedules: Establish work schedules and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment.
  • Work Setting: Coffee shop or fast food outlet/concession.
  • Supervision: 3-4 people, including food service counter attendants and food preparers.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
