Job Description

At Willis Towers Watson, we are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Retirement consulting team as Actuarial Interns. As an Actuarial Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on real client assignments, develop your technical and industry knowledge, and gain valuable experience in the field of actuarial consulting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design, funding, pricing, and implementation of retirement programs for clients.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs.
  • Develop professional expertise and technical knowledge in the area of retirement plans.
  • Work with a wide range of associates at all levels within the local practice.
  • Perform asset/liability modeling and actuarial pension valuations for clients.
  • Assist with the completion of plan reporting and filing requirements.
  • Perform plan administrative tasks such as benefit calculations, plan document reviews, and benefit statement production.
Requirements
  • Progress towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or any other major with significant quantitative coursework.
  • Progress towards the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Associate of Canada (ACIA) designation through the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA).
  • Work experience that demonstrates strong technical and/or client service skills.
  • Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a close team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
