Housekeeping Aide Position

The Housekeeping Aide is a key member of the Environmental Services team at Southern Health-Santé Sud, responsible for maintaining assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly manner. This involves performing routine housekeeping tasks in all facility areas, with a focus on general cleaning and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces
  • Restock and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers
  • Participate in deep cleaning and special projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a clean and safe environment

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English and French is required
  • Grade 10 Education completion (Manitoba Standard)
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial Housekeeping
  • Verbal comprehension and written command of English
  • Ability to handle chemicals and cleaning supplies
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility in adapting to changing environments
  • Respect for cultural diversity
  • Confidentiality and privacy adherence
  • Physical and mental job demands met
  • Good work and attendance records

Conditions of Employment:
