Position Scope

The Assembly Program Manager will act as a specialist in automation and assembly, overseeing the design, construction, and deployment of assembly machinery. This role is crucial in directing efforts related to the implementation of assembly tools to meet production demands for new initiatives and product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of product or tool designs, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry standards.
  • Evaluate and approve designs and processes proposed by assembly tooling vendors, monitoring equipment development through all stages.
  • Assess vendor progress to ensure compliance with timelines and schedules, adjusting methodologies or redirecting efforts as necessary to achieve objectives within budget constraints.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for the procurement of materials and equipment, including cost estimates and layout designs.
  • Support the creation, modification, and testing of products and processes.
  • Assist in interpreting engineering drawings for production teams.
  • Contribute to the development, assessment, enhancement, and documentation of manufacturing processes.
  • Help in establishing and executing process control techniques and procedures.
  • Participate in the creation and review of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) and Control Plans.
  • Conduct root cause and failure analyses as needed.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical issues.
  • Inspect products and processes to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software effectively.
  • Generate technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
  • Resolve technical and product-related issues in the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of engineering practices and industry trends.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA, Statistical Process Control, and Machine Controls.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and theories.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and TS 16949 standards.
  • Proficient in CAD software.
  • Knowledgeable in design techniques, tools, and principles related to the production of technical plans, blueprints, and models.
  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost-effective manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results for effective problem-solving.
  • Skilled in data analysis and technical documentation creation.
  • Proficient in using common hand and power tools.
  • Experienced with measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Competent in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and database functions.
  • Proven skills in time management and project management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem resolution capabilities.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
