About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Merchandising Manager to join our team at Red Apple Stores ULC. As a key member of our Hardlines team, you will be responsible for building and executing a merchandising strategy that drives sales growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising Strategy Development
Develop and implement a comprehensive merchandising strategy that aligns with our business objectives and drives sales growth.
Product Sourcing and NegotiationSource and negotiate with vendors to secure the best possible products and prices for our customers.
Assortment Planning and ManagementPlan and manage the assortment of products across our hardlines categories to ensure optimal sales and profitability.
Financial Planning and AnalysisPrepare and analyze financial plans and forecasts to inform merchandising decisions.
Marketing and PromotionsDevelop and execute marketing and promotional plans to drive sales and customer engagement.
Vendor Relations and CommunicationBuild and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely and effective communication.
Market Research and AnalysisConduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and customer needs.
Collaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics and stores, to ensure seamless execution of merchandising plans.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in hardlines retail
- Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for the category
- Experience in marketing merchandise and product development
- Degree or diploma in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Results-driven and self-motivated with a passion for buying
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and intermediate working knowledge of merchandising systems
