About the Role
The Laboratory Technologist will play a critical role in testing and troubleshooting high-level network issues in our laboratory. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, understand, identify, and interpret schematics, drawings, parts lists, nomenclatures, assembly processes, and quality control systems.
- Create part numbers following company processes.
- Assist in testing and troubleshooting high-level network issues in the laboratory.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as needed.
- Design circuits for connection boxes and cables for specific test requirements, with assistance.
- Build or modify connection boxes and cables as needed.
- Coordinate with production installation for production builds.
- Train junior engineers in debugging and testing product and system configurations.
- Manage laboratory access requests.
- Identify equipment and suppliers and submit purchase requests for laboratory and office equipment.
- Manage the shipment and receipt of parts following company processes.
- Maintain laboratory inventory.
- Maintain laboratory configuration control.
- Install and configure new equipment following installation and configuration procedures.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering technology or equivalent.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, organization, programming, and tracking.
- Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.

- Commitment to laboratory safety practices and compliance with regulatory directives.
- Experience with collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Time management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
- Ability to adapt and integrate new technologies.
- High level of professionalism and ability to work as a team member.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision if necessary.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian security clearance and a positive controlled goods evaluation. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
