About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at 2636559 ONTARIO INC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for coordinating special events, preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Coordination: Co-ordinate special events, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Culinary Expertise: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a clean and organized environment that promotes efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Work Setting: This role is based in a restaurant environment, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding setting.
  • Cuisine Specialties: Experience in Japanese cuisine is an asset.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail, and be physically capable of standing for extended periods and working under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication skills, dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and time management skills are essential for this role.
