Job Title: Editor

We are seeking a skilled Editor to join our team at Dealmoon Canada. As an Editor, you will be responsible for evaluating the suitability of material for publication, making decisions on the significance of copy, and planning the layout or format of copy according to space or time allocations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate suitability of material for publication, broadcast, or publication on the Internet
  • Make decisions on the significance of copy and what to implement
  • Plan layout or format of copy according to space or time allocations
  • Publish text for distribution
  • Detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax
  • Shorten or lengthen copy
  • Plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly
  • Confer with authors, staff writers, reporters, and others regarding revisions to copy
  • Plan and coordinate activities of staff and assure production deadlines are met
  • Write or prepare introductions, marketing and promotional materials, bibliographic references, indexes, and other text
Work Environment:

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure with tight deadlines. They will be required to have excellent written communication skills, be organized, and have a keen eye for detail.

Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English as the primary language of work
  • 30 to 40 hours per week
