The Globe and Mail is seeking a seasoned editor to join our foreign desk and contribute to our world news coverage. As Deputy Foreign Editor, you will work closely with the Foreign Editor and reporters around the world to determine which stories to cover and how to present them effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign daily and breaking news coverage
  • Brainstorm ideas and angles for world news coverage
  • Edit stories in various formats
  • Collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom
Requirements:
  • At least five years of experience in daily news
  • Strong news judgment
  • Excellent editing skills
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is an asset
  • Previous experience working with a Foreign bureau desk is an asset
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours
