Job Title: Program Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Assistant to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. The successful candidate will provide support to our Infant, Toddler and Preschool Program, assisting in the provision of childcare to infants, toddlers and preschool children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the provision of childcare to infants, toddlers and preschool children
  • Enhance child-based play and encourage and guide children in modeling appropriate behavior techniques
  • Perform other duties as directed to support the overall objectives and goals of the program
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures
  • Understanding of early childhood development and the goals and objectives of the infant, toddler and preschool program
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and understand their needs and differences
  • Good interpersonal skills to function effectively as a team member
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma and one (1) year experience providing childcare to children in a group setting
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
