About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at HY'S OF CANADA LTD. HY'S Whistler. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the expectations of our discerning guests.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and high-quality food production.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels and ensure that all ingredients and supplies are ordered and received in a timely manner.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Chef Development: Mentor and develop the skills of our junior chefs, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Cook Trade Certification, Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC), Safe Food Handling certificate, Cook Red Seal Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a senior kitchen management role, with a proven track record of success in menu planning, team leadership, and inventory management.
  • Skills and Qualities: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of cooks and kitchen staff. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
