We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Farm Labourer to join our team at George Durocher and Sons Inc. as a Grain Farm Hand. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the harvesting and management of our grain crops.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the harvesting of grain crops, including cleaning, cutting, and loading
- Perform tasks related to crop management, such as weeding, tying, and securing plants
- Grade and pack fruits and vegetables for market
- Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment as required
- Valid driver's license and own transportation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor
- Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors
- Team player with a quick learning ability
The successful candidate will work in a rural area, with a remote location and various work sites. The work environment will be outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, including wet, dusty, and hot conditions.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities- Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
- Handling heavy loads and physically demanding work
- Ability to distinguish between colors and attention to detail
- Standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Walking and ability to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
The work language is English, and the work schedule will be 40 to 60 hours per week, with a seasonal work term.
