Objective of the RoleThe Aviation Training Specialist is responsible for delivering outstanding ground and simulator flight instruction in alignment with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training programs.
- Design and prepare educational materials that enhance training delivery to fulfill client requirements in accordance with the relevant curriculum.
- Assess and track trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or additional training as necessary.
- Maintain precise training records for each client, supporting their success in achieving specified objectives.
- Identify client training challenges and seek assistance prior to implementation.
- Ensure Instructor qualifications are maintained in compliance with regulatory standards.

- Must be willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- An unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
- If not holding an ATP, must fulfill the requirements of:
- 14 CFR part 61.153
- 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is necessary.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
- Preferred: A total of 2,500 hours of flight time.
- Familiarity with aviation safety standards and practices.
- Understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Ability to effectively manage classes and deliver instruction.
- Basic facilitation skills.
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Willingness to be coachable and receptive to feedback for personal development.
In the execution of this role, the employee is regularly required to use hands for handling objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally. The employee may need to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may also be required to taste or smell. Physical capabilities necessary for this position include: reaching, applying pressure, and manipulating controls with both feet; reaching and adjusting various controls within the Simulator from the Instructor's chair; entering and exiting the Simulator via the provided ramp; moving between the Instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in the classroom; and exiting from a malfunctioning Simulator in a severely pitched position. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this position, the employee often works near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to high, precarious locations, outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid environments, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, radiation, and vibrations.
