Job Summary

The Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide therapeutic services to patients with neurological rehabilitation needs. This role requires a strong understanding of occupational therapy and physiotherapy principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist occupational therapists and physiotherapists in the provision of therapeutic services to patients with neurological rehabilitation needs.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Implement treatment plans and provide support to patients with daily living activities, mobility, and cognitive functions.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a recognized OTA/PTA Certificate or Diploma program.
  • 2 years of recent therapeutic experience in neurological rehabilitation with populations such as Spinal Cord, Stroke, and ABI.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols with patients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
