Job Summary

The Clinical Extern - Occupational Therapy Learner is an integral member of the healthcare team, providing high-quality care to patients and families while demonstrating a commitment to excellence in supporting the patient and family experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver care to patients, including measuring vital signs, assisting with personal care and activities of daily living, promoting patient safety through falls risk assessments and skin assessments, and other interventions assigned or delegated by the interprofessional team.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a recognized Occupational Therapy program.
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellent academic standing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Infection prevention and control practices.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
